Great set. Could you add more dungeon variations and a store front, with tables and glass store front displays for displaying goods and spoils from dungeons? I would buy it.
I followed all this serie like a year ago, with the videos you did on Youtube, and i wonder, how is everything going since then ? Are you working on something new ? Is Pixelarium still selling, and do you still consider it interresting for a passive income, in retrospective ?
Wish you all the best! You really motivated me to just jump in the unknown and get my hands dirty with posting pixel art packages.
Thank you so much for the message, I 'm glad to read that you enjoyed the videos and that it got you motivated :)
I'm currently on a hiatus, all my gamedev & pixel art projects are on hold until I'm done with my PhD. I'm currently writing my thesis and the PhD defense will be this October (if everything goes right). I'm waiting to be done with it to finally come back to hobbies and projects.
Hello Monekybini! The screenshots for this page are 20x16 tiles to fit the recommended screenshot size. The screen size in Godot is up to you really! You can fit as many (or as little) tiles as you see fit.
"When you used the tiles in godot", I'm not sure exactly what you refer to! Was it maybe in a YouTube video?
The tiles can be used at the original scale (16x16 pixel tiles). No scaling needed! ;)
These are perfect for my little action-RPG I'm working on:
Edit: Just realized I have double shadows on the objects. I had different (uglier :P) objects before that didn't have shadows in the sprites so I added them in Godot. Might be a good idea to have a version of the character with shadow too?
This little demo looks great! Thank you for the suggestion, I've added shadows for trees and some general ones that can be used for the building, but the character doesn't have one. I'll keep it in mind for the next update ;)
The sword hits don't fit in 16x16. Is there a way to make that sheet work in godot animation player or do I have to make a new sheet that's bigger so the sword fits (for example 32x32)?
Hello Ten! Yes, the animation of the character with the sword takes up 32x32 pixels. I'd say the best way to go is to consider the sword as a separate entity and put it on top of the character. The attack animation was based on the way it is done in "The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past", in that tileset the sword is a separate tile to be placed on top of the character (with a given offset).
The best would be to have the two as separate entities in the tileset. I can work on this quite quickly and update the file ;)
Thanks! I actually already went ahead and made a 32x32 sheet and it works nicely. Having the weapon as a separate entity is a good idea because you could just change the weapon sprite if the player upgrades his sword
Great to hear! Yes, having them separate can be helpful for having different weapon types without the need of duplicating the character. I'll keep it in mind for the next update ;)
For an idea for a "planet" how about this? Sword and Tech. Think Sword and Sorcery but instead of magic there is technology left behind by an advanced ancient civilization, called Relics. Instead of sorcerers there are Scientist, studying ancient tomes called User Manuals, trying to unlock the secrets of the Relics. So it would be mostly not advanced (think Conan the Barbarian) but there would some advanced Relic technology that pops out of the scenery with it's distinct look. Pretty cool, huh? Out hero could be a hunter of Relics and his pal a mad Scientist :)
Hello TenToes! Thank you for the planet idea, I've actually already started working on the next one and it's not too far from your idea. The next tileset is going to be a sci-fi/tech one, I'm taking inspiration from Xenoblade for it! I really like the idea of ancient tech as a whole! ;)
That sounds great! With some sand tiles and such combined with the sci-fi stuff I could probably create close to what I described. Xenoblade is great inspiration for sure :)
Are you going to be doing animated enemies and NPCs? Maybe some more actions/attacks for the main character too. I could maybe commission my own main character in a similar style?
Hello TenToes! There are definitely going to be more animated character designs (based on the one I already have) and I'd also like to add some enemies as well. As for new animations, I'm still thinking about them. For the time being I'm not really available for commissions (I work full time, I can only work on pixel art before/after work and during the weekends), but I may open some time for commissions when I'm a bit more available :)
Hello TenToes! The tiles aren't specifically designed in mind for one engine in particular. I personally use Tiled, which allows to create maps based on a given tileset, I've used it for the creation of the promotional work for Pixelarium and it works pretty well. You can also import the maps you create from Tiled directly into Godot ;)
I realized I was actually subscibed to your Youtube and you show your Tiled workflow there! I need to watch that video. Though I'm also interested in learning to use this for making maps: https://led.itch.io/tilesetter
The tiles look great, I'm gonna use them for a small Zelda-like demo game :)
Thank you for subscribing on YouTube! I did show a bit of Tiled a very long time ago in a short video. I should probably make a bit of a better, more specific walkthrough video when I have some time in the future!

Hello there, I'm looking for a artist for my game would you be interested? If so what would you be working for?
Do you still need one?
Probaly not the end of the school year is coming up, maybe during Summer. I couldn't find anyone so I kind of put that project to the side for now.

Thanks to take the time to answer! All the best for your PhD! Hope to see you then back to itch.io 🙂
Hey Ric :)
How is your pack going ? Are you planning more stuff in this Pixelarium serie ?
Have a good day !
Is it possible to hide interior when my character is outside of house?
nice assets! I'm still waiting for the next update tho
Even tho I would like to buy this, I can't because I am not allowed to make online purchases.
Good stuff, hope you got that new tablet. ;)
Great job! I'm looking forward to seeing your Sci-fi tiles. They are in such rare supply. Thanks.
question when you used the tiles in godot what was the screen size? also did you scale the tile map or leave it at its default scale?

Working in unity?
This tileset is not designed for a specific game engine. I'm not familiar with Unity, but any engine that allows to use tiles should be fine ;)
thank you so much
Yes, any pixel art tile sets and spritesheets would work just fine in unity 🙂
Very nice work!
Thank you! :)
Hello :)
Whao, great start on itch ! You are making cool stuff 🤩
Adding sidenotes on your tileset is a brilliant idea it will help users a lot.
Good luck for Pixelarium, consistency is key.
Oh hi it's Low-Res, thank you! I've seen your work, it's really nice!
Thanks, I was afraid it may not always be clear what the tiles were supposed to be, so I decided to add the extra column for that :)
Good luck with Super Retro World too!

Hi. Did you ever finish more your sci-fi tileset?

OK, sounds good. If I can make a suggestion a roll or evade animation for the player character would be great.
Looks good. Is there a guide on how to setup bitmasks for the tiles in Godot?

I love it. Looks awesome. Do you do commissions?
Thank you! It mainly depends on the size and deadline of the commission. We should discuss about it in private (aboostedmind@gmail.com)
